The CDA Patient Journeycdaclinics
Our doctors can apply to the Department of Health to prescribe medical cannabis products such as CBD oil and THC flower bud.
CDA patient journey begins when a patient or carer registers on our website.
You can undertake a free eligibility screening on our website. Soon after enquiring on our website you’ll receive an Information Pack, which includes some important information that you must read.
In order for a CDA doctor to consult with you, you’ll need to send a referral letter from your regular doctor or specialist and a short health summary or medical history from your regular doctor.
We’ll also require a CDA consent form signed by you. *Certain conditions may require further information. Whether done in our Clinics or via TeleHealth, the consult will take approximately 30 minutes.
During the consult the medical team will review your medical history and previous treatments and help you select safe and affordable medical cannabis to treat your symptoms. Your doctor will also discuss a personalized treatment management plan including setting clear treatment goals, evaluating the benefits, and monitoring for potential side effects.
Once you’ve paid for your consult, your application will then be sent to the Department of Health for approval. When your application is approved the doctor will write the prescription and send it to the pharmacy. The pharmacy can then order your products from the supplier. The dispensing pharmacy will call you when your order is ready and take payment for any medicinal cannabis products.
The pharmacy can securely courier your medication out to you or you can collect it from the Pharmacy. Our preferred pharmacies have the lowest dispensing and shipping fees. The average time for approval and dispensing is 10 business days. Please see our website for more information.
